These vintage earrings feature a flattering teardrop shape decorated with damascene, an ancient technique in which intricate designs are hand-chiseled into oxidized steel and inlaid with silver and gold. The tapestry-like patterns created are similar to those seen in damask silk, which likely inspired damascene's name. During the 20th century, damascene jewelry was typically created in Spain and Japan. This beautiful pair of earrings were crafted in Toledo, Spain, and are artfully embellished with a golden floral motif.
